Annona muricata L., popularly known as Laxman phal or Graviola, is widely used as a traditional medicine. Plant parts of Soursop, such as fruit, leaves, and bark, have medicinal properties. We have studied 49 research papers, which conclude that the pharmacological properties of Soursop shows Anticancer - 25%, antiulcer - 17%, antidiabetic - 14%, antiprotozoal - 10%, antidiarrhea - 8%, antibacterial - 8%, antiviral 8%, antihypertensive - 6%, wound healing properties - 4%. The important active compounds in Annona muricata L. are Acetogenin - 49%, Alkaloids -26%, Flavonoids - 19%, and others - 6%, which are reportedly responsible for Soursop's pharmacological properties. Acetogenins, which are active components, are temperature sensitive. Therefore, it's challenging to scale up and produce stable raw material for commercial production.
